Breeder of Havanese

Meet the breeder

I'm Jan, the breeder behind Sweet Feats Havanese located in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX. SWEET FEATS HAVANESE ~ Thank you for your interest in our Havanese. I hope that you visit us where there is lots of information about how we raise our puppies and our commitment to that, as well as input from our Havanese families.  Four years ago, I discovered something called the early neurological stimulation for Puppies, a program developed by the military for their dogs. (You can watch a video about this on our homepage at sweetfeats) It actually has turned out to be the gift that keeps on giving as it gives them more tolerance to stress, helps them learn quickly, and it improves their immune system ~ everything a military dog needs, and also a gift to our own dogs. Based on the positive responses that I’ve gotten from our Havanese families I’ve continue to do this on an ongoing basis. Our puppies leave us with a comprehensive health exam by our veterinarian, a health certificate, a Home Again microchip, and a guarantee against any debilitating congenital problem. I also continue to be a resource on an ongoing basis for you whenever you need help or more information. In the meantime, if you’d like, I’d be happy to send references to you, as well as our contract/guarantee. If you have any questions, or would like more information, please let me know and thanks again for your interest in our Havanese.

Q. & A. with Jan

  • Why did you start breeding?

Over 20 years ago my five-year-old twin granddaughters asked for a puppy. My daughter gave me a criteria of small, but not fragile, not yapping, not needy, and a non-shedding! LOL 😂 I found 2 seven month-old puppies that the breeder did not want to separate so I adopted both of them. I kept one for myself, and fell madly in love with the breed❣️
  • What makes your program special?

Discovered Havs shortly after their AKC acceptance. I was fortunate to be mentored by Twins Havanese, influential breeders in the early days of the breed in the US. My health tested dogs have grand champion pedigrees, many experiences, and early neurological stimulation, which enhances their tolerance, learning and immunity. I continue to be an ongoing resource for you AFTER you adopt your puppy.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include white, cream, chocolate, black, and red sable. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
