Why did you start breeding?
I got my start in breeding with my first Golden Retriever, Abby, in 2013. I sought out mentorship and began what would be a lifelong passion. After a few wonderful years, I paused to pursue my career, but my love for the breed never faded. I’ve returned with renewed passion and a deeper commitment to raising healthy, happy puppies and supporting families for life.
What makes your program special?
Our breeding program stands out with health-tested parents, Early Neurological Stimulation, early scent detection, and strong socialization. Puppies begin potty and crate training before going home, and we offer lifelong support to every family. It’s a foundation of care, connection, and commitment.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Elaina and Amy

Elaina and Amy has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Elaina and Amy partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

“We take great care in matching puppies to the right families. At or around 6 weeks we will do puppy selection where families can meet the puppies and will choose their puppy in the order deposits have been received. As breeders we know these puppies very well and will guide families towards the puppy or puppies that we feel would be a great fit based on what each family is looking for. ”

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes AKC registration papers, age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, puppy packet with goodies, and a toy scented like mom and litter to ease the transition into their new home. A $500 non-refundable deposit secures your puppy and place on waitlist or choice selection and applies to the total price.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. The Sweetbay pups have officially graduated to full territory! 🐾 Their whelping area now stretches across the entire space, giving them plenty of room to explore, play, and practice their growing independence. With potty habits becoming more consistent, they’re ready for bigger adventures — complete with new toys. Tomorrow marks another milestone: their first taste of puppy mush!

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
