Meet the breeder

I'm Katie C., the breeder behind Sweetheart Doodles located in Bellevue, WA. Our cavapoos and maltipoos are unique in that their poodle lineage comes from Korea. They have baby doll faces and perfect conformation. We focus on early training, including ENS, AVIDOG, crate, and potty. They are not just cute, they are also VERY smart.

Q. & A. with Katie

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started with show cats and show maltese. Over time, I've learned that purebreds, however well they are bred, have just been over and in-bred for so long that many times, breeding was more about avoiding big problems. Even with the health tests available, the animals encountered just lacked that vigor. Conscious ethical hybrid breeding is what called me. And here I am.
  • What makes your program special?

Early learning is so important in puppies (as well as in humans). Puppies are exposed to stimulus from day 1. They are born and raised in my bedroom. When they start walking, potty training begins. The earlier you start, the less bad habits they form. Many of my puppies take to potty training just like kittens take to litter box training. They just do it on their own with the right set up.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Cavapoo puppies include toy and miniature sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Cavapoo puppies include apricot, red, and white. Maltipoo puppies include apricot, red, and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
