I'm Debbie S., the breeder behind Tails Up Standard Poodles located in Valdese, NC. We love Standard Poodles and are thrilled to raise them! I love this beautiful breed, they are intuitive, intelligent, loving, and loyal. They make wonderful family pets that are large and hypoallergenic. It has been our greatest joy and passion to breed these dogs and place them in loving homes.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I have raised dogs of several breeds since 1973. I have groomed dogs since about the same time. I have always wanted to raise standard poodles. My husband and I have retired and decided to raise Standard Poodles and train them as service dogs and family pets. It is our dream and our goal to raise, intelligent, loyal companions for individuals and families.

  • What makes your program special?

    We invest ourselves into our breeding program providing excellent care of our dogs. We provide DNA, health testing,OFA Certified hips and heart,& veterinary care. We provide our puppies with their AKC litter registration, 3 generations pedigree, proof of health testing & shots up to date. We provide a shot and veterinary schedule for the first-year and rehome if necessary.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include apricot, black, brown, cream, red, and silver-beige. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Debbie

Debbie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $1,200 - $1,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“For payment: Zelle, Venmo, PayPal and cash Payment must be totally complete (cleared bank or PayPal,Venmo) BEFORE puppy is picked up, or transferred to Buyer. NO CHECKS!!! Mostly puppies are same price male or female depending on color All are AKC registered, all puppies are microchipped and registered with AKC Reunite. RESERVE HOLDING FEES are 300.00 AND NOT REFUNDABLE. PLEASE UNDERSTAND WITHOUT A RESERVE HOLDING FEE PUPPIES ARE NOT RESERVED OR HELD.”

  • Hip Dysplasia , Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Full Embark Panel, PawPrint Genetic Panel (Breed Specific)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
