I'm Demery P., the breeder behind Tandem English Springer Spaniels located in Bremerton, WA. Our goal is to create joyful, healthy, long-lived, beautiful Springers who embody our vision of the breed standard and make wonderful family companions.
Q. & A. with Demery
Why did you start breeding?
I have shown dogs for well over 15 years, starting in my local 4-H program at 11 years old and eventually becoming a successful AKC junior handler, and now breeder/owner/handler. My passion has always been the English Springer Spaniel breed.
What makes your program special?
Health and temperament are our top priorities when planning breedings, and this is evident when you meet our dogs with their ever-wagging tails, and via their OFA health records. Our dams (mothers) are followed by a reproductive veterinarian throughout their pregnancy to ensure the best outcomes for our babies. We meet or exceed our parent club (ESSFTA) health screening standards.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include liver and white and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

About Siri
Siri is a female English Springer Spaniel about 7 years old. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Demery decided to make her part of their program. Demery has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.
Tandem English Springer Spaniels reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for English Springer Spaniels.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
DNA Repository, PRA, Cone-Rod Dystrophy 4 (PRA-crd4)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
