I'm Marlena B., the breeder behind Tatties Ranch located in Escudilla Bonita, NM. Our Anatolian Shepherds and Komondor have experience working with goats, sheep, horses, rabbits, chickens and turkeys.
We breed by AKC standards and health test all of our dogs.
We have lovely Newfoundlands that bless our house with their companionship.
Q. & A. with Marlena
Why did you start breeding?
We love to share the love of our dogs and to educate others on how working livestock guardians interact with their charges, how they communicate with each other and how they rely on their natural instincts.
As an RN and former Lamaze instructor, I am fascinated with all aspects of human and animal reproduction. I dedicated many years of my life to all aspects of gestation and parturition.
What makes your program special?
We incorporate breed standards as a guide in our breeding program. We health test and breed only the best working lines with several generation pedigrees available.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Komondor puppies are white. Anatolian Shepherd Dog puppies are fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
