I'm Jessica C., the breeder behind Tequila Kennels located in Alvord, TX. We are bird dog owners, competitors, trainers and handlers with 30+ years experience. We travel to compete in AKC field trials in the midwest during the spring and fall, shows in the off-season, and train on wild birds in Montana during the summer. Our winter home is in northern Texas. Our Brittanys and Vizslas are thoughtfully bred, lovingly hand-raised, proven in the field and/or show ring, and health tested. Our combined years of experience as owners, breeders, hunters, trainers, handlers and judges gives us a broad base of knowledge to add to our love of raising top quality Brittanys and Vizslas for competitors, hunters, and families (as well as for ourselves!).What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include liver white and orange, liver roan, orange roan, liver and white, and orange and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

"TAZA" is from a repeat breeding, the first of which produced our Luna who I loved so much I wanted another one just like her! Though smaller than her big sister, Taza won her puppy field trial points, multiple Derby placements and has two major wins in the show ring to put her well on the way to her Dual title. She is always fun to run and watch in the field with her fast, snappy application, great drive for birds and willingness to handle. She has an always positive attitude about everything she does! Taza's sire is a son of our Hall of Fame NBOB/DC/AFC Tequila With A Twist, and linebred on NFC/DC/AFC Tequila's Joker. Her dam has a broad background from strong field, show, and Dual dogs. Multiple dogs from both of these litters have wins and titles in both field and show, and successfully hunt with their owners.

"SHELBY" started in the field with several Puppy stake placements and spends each summer finding wild and released birds at our summer training camp in Montana. She has great ground speed and tons of intensity on point, with an always-happy temperament, not easily offended or intimidated by much of anything! Shelby earned her show championship in two weekends, winning 5 majors out of 6 shows! She has one champion and two Dual pointed offspring from her first litters, with one of those having a 1-hour field trial placement to his credit. Most of her puppies are highly prized hunters for their owners. Shelby comes from a diverse background of top field trial, show, Dual and hunting dogs and her puppies make great prospects for anything their owners like to do!

DAM - Tequila's Hot Tamale ("Tamale") is a daughter of GFC/FC/AFC FireStarter's Crossed The Line, and a direct daughter of NFC/DC/AFC Tequila's Joker. Both of Tamale's parents are proven producers of Field Champions as well as excellent hunters. Tamale is PennHIP rated .42L .53R, clear of hip dysplasia. Her previous litters by Indy's sire, DC/GFC2 Almaden's Under Lock And Key, have produced outstanding pups who have won in field trials and shows as well as being beloved hunting companions.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
