I'm Allison S., the breeder behind Texas Lil Cowdogs located in Lufkin, TX. We’re proud of the healthy, affectionate, and behaviorally well-rounded puppies we raise for other families to love! We cherish each of our dogs and puppies, and we do everything we can to make sure that they get the best lives possible. That includes everything from choosing healthy parents with good temperaments, to proper socialization and daily care, to placing them in loving homes with wonderful families. We strive to provide each of our puppies and their families with a truly positive experience!

Why did you start breeding?
I have been breeding Miniature Australian Shepherds for 15 years. I have a strong background in the Equine industry and managed a large Quarter Horse breeding farm for over 20 years. With a great love of dogs all my life and an interest in breeding, I set out to improve on the Miniature Australian Shepherd breed.What makes your program special?
We strive to produce dogs with breed standard conformation, excellent dispositions, versatility and wonderful personalities so they make good working family members for their new owners.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies include tiny and miniature sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our American Corgi puppies include fawn and white, black and tan, blue merle and white, red merle and white, and gray and white. Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppies include fawn, sable, and blue. Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies include blue merle, black tri, red tri, and red merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

+4After waiting over a year following the passing of my 15-year-old Pomeranian, one of Allison's puppies at Texas Lil Cowdogs caught my eye. Not only was Allison incredibly responsive when I reached out, but after just a couple of messages, she gave me her phone number and invited me to visit her farm to meet Picasso (whom I’ve since named Caleb). It was such a privilege to meet Caleb’s parents, all the other dogs, and even one of the cats who lives on the farm. Allison’s facilities were pristine from top to bottom, and you could tell by the demeanor of every single one of her dogs (I think she introduced me to all of them!) that she pours her heart and soul into caring for them like they’re her own family. It was also immediately clear that the dogs love her just as much, and Allison does everything she can to ensure they’re happy and healthy. I spent several hours visiting before taking Caleb home, and I have to say, it was the best experience I’ve ever had getting a new dog. Allison was extremely knowledgeable and transparent about the health of Caleb’s parents, and she offered great advice on feeding and caring for him. This is easily the most well-adjusted puppy I’ve ever had... even by the second day, he was settling in beautifully. That kind of start only happens when a dog comes from a place like Texas Lil Cowdogs. Anyone can say what you want to hear when choosing a breeder, but Allison backs it up with an incredible environment and clear dedication to every detail of her dogs’ care. I wish I had found Allison sooner, but I truly feel like I’ve made a new friend. I know exactly who I’ll recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful, healthy dog. Allison, thank you for taking so much time with me and helping me feel confident about such an important decision. Caleb seems so happy and is settling in great. I’ve been thinking about getting another dog for a while now. Schnauzers have always had my heart and I’ve had two miniature schnauzers before and my parents had one. I know they are smart, playful, and full of sass. They are just a wonderful, fun breed of dog. I began my search and found Allison. I picked out Riley Rose(formerly Arizona) at 2 weeks old. Allison has been wonderful in her updates, photos, and general communication about Riley. Well, yesterday was the day that I picked up my baby. The property is beautiful, well maintained, the kennels are clean, the puppies are well cared for, and Allison is just a kind, thorough, and compassionate human being. This has been a really good experience and I am so glad that I found Allison. My beautiful girl is the perfect addition to my family!
