Meet the breeder

I'm Julie J., the breeder behind The Blessed Herd located in Bode, IA. I have been breeding Corgi's for 25 years, specifically for their temperament. Both parents work with children with mental health conditions. Parents are genetically tested for 240 potential genetic health concerns and are 100 % clear.

Q. & A. with Julie

  • Why did you start breeding?

My father in law was a veterinarian and had a Corgi that we loved.
  • What makes your program special?

My Corgis are tested for their ability to work with challenging kids. I look for dogs that compliment each other in personality type and in confirmation.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Jacob, is a little sweetheart, but has come out of his laid back personality and is funny, feisty and full of energy and so much fun. We are working on potty training him and showing him how to use the doggy door. Jacob follows Ozzy our 11 yr old Pomeranian everywhere, the first time Ozzy came in the doggy door Jacob was right on his tail and when Ozzy disappeared Jacob stopped and look around like where did he go, he just disappeared. We absolutely loved working with Julie, she is so knowledgeable and loving to her dogs and pups. We will be referring her as a great, loving and caring breeder. Thank You The Blessed Herd for everything.
