I'm Kaitlyn D., the breeder behind The Joy of Corgis located in Citrus Heights, CA. Hello! The Joy of Corgis Kennel is currently only composed of our beloved girl, Winona AKA Winny. Her personality and good genetics are what convinced us to move forward with having this litter. Her prince charming is her equal and we can't wait to meet these babies!

Glee has an ear going up! Maybe by tomorrow they will both be up 😁

Glee scored a 3 on his Volhard Aptitude testing. This surprised me! He feels more like a 4, but I can see how sometimes that mischievous side does come out when he is in play mode. He has all the ear marks of being an easy to train dog and comes readily when called. So affection and LOVES to hang out in your lap. Perfect for someone who enjoys regular outings with their dog and wants a loyal friend at their side.

Jubilee scored a 4 on her Volhard Aptitude test. A 4 is a wonderful match for a first time dog owner. A good amount of energy for play, but also willing to settle and hang out with you. She is wonderfully attentive and should be very fun to train and socialize. A dog park dog or a home buddy, you decide!

Bliss scored as a 2 on her Volhard Aptitude test. 2 is a wonderful score for someone looking for a performance dog! Hiking buddy, running, agility, Fast CAT, detailed training work, showing...this girl has the brains and the drive to go with you on all your adventures! She is so smart already and has learned sit, down and come.

Pembroke Welsh Corgi
About Winny
Winny is the ideal Corgi. She is all the fun silliness that Corgis are known for while also being a very intelligent, well mannered, cuddly and even tempered. She is a part time therapy dog for children and elderly folks; bomb proof and the most empathetic dog I have ever known. She knows when it is time to play and when it is time to rest; she is my best friend.
Good health testing
Good level
The Joy of Corgis reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Pembroke Welsh Corgis.
Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), DNA Disease Panel, Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
