I'm Paige G., the breeder behind The Kennels at Calls Creek located in Watkinsville, GA. Our Mini Australian Labradoodles make wonderful family companions. Their temperament and coat quality as well as their intelligence come from the unique blend of Cocker Spaniel, Poodle, Lab and Water Dog that was originally bred in Australia in the 1980's to produce a low-no shedding therapy dog.

About Violet
Violet is what is called a Chocolate Phantom. Sometimes over time these coats fade - and Violet's coat has faded into what's called cafe. So when her coat is long in the winter it appears darker than in the Summer when she is in her short 'do and it looks almost silvery in the light. She lives with us and is a playful "big sister" to another younger ALD that we own. She loves to snuggle and she also loves to wrap her body around your legs like a cat so that you can scratch all sides of her. We never find her hair in the house and we love how low shed her coat is. She does well on a grooming table. She's very clever and stands on her back legs to watch us out the door and has even learned to open the door handle if given enough tries so she's also earned the nickname "Otter" because of what she looks like standing at the door. She's great with our kids and has plenty of energy to keep up with them on a daily basis. Violet has also undergone extensive health testing and passed her tests with flying colors!
Uploaded health tests
The Kennels at Calls Creek reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Australian Labradoodles.
Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
