The Painted Pup

Marshelle B.

Breeder of Pembroke Welsh Corgis

Meet the breeder

I'm Marshelle B., the breeder behind The Painted Pup located in Montesano, WA. Our wait list is full through 2021. Please check back later, as we may expand our breeding program and have new litters scheduled.

Q. & A. with Marshelle

  • Why did you start breeding?

My first Corgi was a rescued senior citizen. Unfortunately, he passed at 16 years, after a 2-year struggle with DM. From that heart breaking experience, I decided no owner of my pups will ever need to face that. I carefully selected my dogs based on their genetics. Your puppy will come health-screened so that they never have to suffer a disease that can and should be prevented.
  • What makes your program special?

It's a small breeding program with a few hand-selected dogs based on their genetics, conformation, color, coat length, and temperament. I will only have 2-3 litters per year. All puppies will be paired up with responsible, pre-screened owners.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red and sable. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
