I'm Courtney P., the breeder behind The Royal Kennel located in West Plains, MO. We strive to produce outstanding puppies that are structurally sound, healthy, intuitive and have wonderful temperaments. Each puppy is greatly loved by us! We ensure they are socialized, healthy, and prepared to excel in their forever homes. Our dogs are bred for those specifics, and we take pride in our breeding program.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I have always loved dogs and was excited to establish my breeding program. Although I am fairly new to breeding, I have loved the journey. I am a proud breeder with a focus on temperament and the overall mental and physical health of my puppies.

  • What makes your program special?

    I do everything I can to ensure my puppies have what they need to develop into healthy and happy dogs. I’m passionate about Dachshunds and Poodles and am excited to responsibly share them with the world! I offer top-quality, loving pups. In my breeding program, good health and temperament are essential, and cuteness and love are guaranteed.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our Poodle puppies are toy size. Dachshund puppies are miniature size. Cockapoo puppies include tiny and mini sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Dachshund puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our Poodle puppies include white and parti. Dachshund puppies include red, wild boar, chocolate, chocolate and tan, and black and tan. Cockapoo puppies include cream, buff and white, buff, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

    We had been planning for a puppy for our physically disabled daughter for the last 2 years and had promised her it would come this past Christmas after we moved back home. She was quick to remind us right after we moved that “Lola Dutch” was coming this Christmas. My husband and I immediately started searching for a puppy that fit the description she had clung to for the last 2 years. While Courtney couldn’t guarantee the exact physical description we were looking for, she was more than willing to help us and fully transparent with what she thought may be possible within her up coming litter. I think she was as invested and hopeful for this puppy to come as we were! Courtney was so communicative and helpful throughout the entire process. Ultimately, we brought home the perfect puppy. She looked exactly like what our daughter dreamed of and she is the perfect combination of cuddles and playfulness. She adores our 4 year old and gets along incredibly well with our other 2 big dogs.     Courtney was so responsive and helpful. I looked for a while and spoke to various breeders, but I could tell Courtney especially loves her pups and takes such good care of them. She was great about updating me and sending some pictures while I was waiting to pick up my pup. My cockapoo puppy is the best! She is well socialized with people, dogs, cats, and kids. She picks up on new things like potty training super quickly and is such a lovely girl! I would highly recommend Courtney and am so grateful for her help and how wonderfully she cared for my pup.

    It can be scary to put your trust in someone you haven't met while trying to find an amazing puppy. We recently relocated and couldn't make it work logistically with the breeder we have worked with in the past, so we began researching different options and looking into different breeders. We came across Courtney and The Royal Kennel on gooddog.com and while we fell in love with pictures of the puppies that she had available it was her responsiveness, willingness to communicate and sincerity that ultimately helped us make a decision to purchase one of her puppies. Because of some issues in the past we were a bit worried about the transaction but Courtney was open and transparent about every step of the process and kept us accurately informed all along the way. We received our puppy a few weeks ago and while know that no two dogs are alike and they all have their own personality our puppy is as well adjusted, healthy and happy as any puppy we have ever had. She has been such a delight and is so amazing that it's hard to believe that she is only a few months old. It is obvious that Courtney puts time and care into her breeding practice as is evidenced by the amazing new addition to our family.

    We had an incredible experience with Courtney from The Royal Kennel. From the very first contact she was friendly, highly professional and knowledgeable.
