I'm Yessenia O., the breeder behind The Sweet Life of a Toy Poodle located in Tampa, FL. Welcome to The Sweet Life of a Toy Poodle At The Sweet Life of a Toy Poodle, we are a small, home-based program dedicated to raising Toy Poodles with a strong focus on temperament, health, and real-life readiness. Our puppies are raised in our home not in kennels and are part of our everyday life. From the very beginning, they are surrounded by daily activity, care, and interaction that helps shape them into confident, companions. They are lovingly raised alongside our young daughter, which naturally encourages gentle, social, and family-oriented behavior. We prioritize early socialization, consistent handling, and a structured yet nurturing environment so each puppy develops into an affectionate, adaptable, and emotionally balanced companion. Our parent dogs are thoughtfully selected for their health, structure, and temperament. All adults undergo genetic health testing as well as OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) evaluations to ensure they meet high standards. Each puppy is carefully monitored throughout development and receives routine veterinary care, proper nutrition, and individual attention. We are proudly located in Tampa, Florida. For families traveling from out of the area, we offer the option to meet at Tampa International Airport (TPA) and can also arrange delivery for an additional cost. We believe clear communication and trust are essential. From your first inquiry through the transition home and beyond, we are here to provide guidance, updates, and ongoing support.   • Why did you start breeding?

    I was introduced to breeding through my own journey with infertility. After struggling to conceive naturally and experiencing multiple miscarriages, I found comfort in welcoming poodles into my life. Each one became a symbol of the angels I hold in heaven—my human babies who I never got to raise here on earth. My four-legged companions became a source of healing, unconditional love, and emotional support during one of the most difficult chapters of my life. They helped me cope, heal, and continue forward with hope in my heart. Today, I am blessed with a 3-year-old child and a small, cherished group of poodles who fill my home with joy, light, and purpose. My journey has deepened my love for these incredible dogs and shaped the care and intention I put into every puppy I raise.

  • What makes your program special?

    My breeding program is built on intention, love, and responsibility—not volume. Each pairing is carefully planned with a focus on health, temperament, and structure, with the goal of producing well-rounded, confident, and affectionate companions. My puppies are raised inside my home as part of my family, where they are exposed to daily life, sounds, handling, and early social development from the very beginning. I incorporate early neurological stimulation (ENS), gentle desensitization, and consistent human interaction to help set each puppy up for a smooth transition into their forever home. What makes my program truly special is the heart behind it. My journey into breeding was born from both loss and love, which shaped the way I care for every life entrusted to me. Each puppy is deeply valued, and every placement is made with great thought and care. My goal is not just to produce beautiful poodles, but to raise companions that bring healing, joy, and lifelong connection to the families who welcome them.

    Our puppies are toy size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

    Our puppies include brown, cream, red, parti, and phantom. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

Getting a puppy from Yessenia

Yessenia has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Yessenia partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $1,000 non-refundable deposit and between $2,500 - $5,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Each puppy is placed with a 1-year health guarantee and comes with AKC Limited Registration. Prior to joining their furever homes, they are thoroughly vet-checked, dewormed, microchipped, and up to date on their first set of age-appropriate vaccinations. A Florida Health Certificate is also provided, ensuring each puppy leaves in excellent health and with complete peace of mind for their new family. Non refundable deposit.”

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Chondrodystrophy and IVDD Risk (CDDY-IVDD), Chondrodystrophy (CDDY and IVDD Risk) with or without Chondrodysplasia (CDPA), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
