I'm Sandra G., the breeder behind The Whim located in California. We breed to both help ensure the future of the Beagle and to improve upon our dogs' fantastic traits with each generation. We only breed dogs that are healthy, have wonderful temperaments, and are outstanding examples of their breed. Holding ourselves to high standards is paramount to the well-being of our dogs and to the integrity of our program.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
DNA Disease Panel, Musladin-Leuke Syndrome (MLS)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
