I'm Heidi S., the breeder behind The Wildfire Ranch located in De Beque, CO. The Savocas are practically Colorado natives, now starting a home of their own. But while our family is new, we are not new to raising dogs! Heidi has been breeding Goldens since 2016 and we are excited to be bringing pups to homes in Grand Junction, Denver and the surrounding states.

Heidi has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

“Our puppies come microchipped with a prepaid Reunite enrollment, along with their first shot and deworming, a puppy pack, their AKC registration application, and our healthy puppy and two-year genetic health guarantee. A deposit is required to reserve a pick of the litter.”
Heidi may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Heidi offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don’t hesitate to reach out to Heidi directly.

Jester and Lucy's litter

Golden Retriever
About Jester
Our first bold red Golden, Jester has become exactly the kind of dog I wanted to add to our pack. He is smart but super sweet, active but has an awesome "off switch", and loves fetching just as much as laying at your feet! He absolutely adores our baby too.
Good health testing

Golden Retriever
About Lucy
Lucy is an English Cream style Golden with light, gold-touched fur and blocky style. She is super mellow and laid back, hardly ever barks, and prefers her home above any other place. She is friends - or tries to be friends - with everyone, adores puppies, and loves to play, whether it be by herself or with a buddy.
Good health testing

Golden Retriever
About Cleo
Smart, pretty, easy going, and good with kids, Cleo is a perfect all around Golden. She will be happy to play fetch with you, or just hang around watching. She has completed her CGC title and did so with ease. She is a joy to train and be with!

Golden Retriever
About Rex
We looked long and hard for a Golden who was not only beautiful, but also passed all his health testing with high marks. Rex is just that! He is completely genetically clear, sound, and conformationally pleasing, taking after his mother who is an international champion from Russia. On top of all that he is loving and boundlessly confident - a true gem!
Excellent health testing

Golden Retriever
About Goldie
Goldie is our own, homebred pup, and is SO like her mother it is uncanny! She has her color, her smile, her bark, her build, and her intelligence; but is a bit more mellow. She is a delightful pup, and has been super easy to train and is my little velcro dog.

The Wildfire Ranch reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Golden Retrievers.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Ichthyosis, Golden Retriever Type
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis 5 (NCL5), Golden Retriever Type, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), PRA, Golden Retriever 2, PRA, Golden Retriever 1
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Heidi was wonderful. She was very responsive and kind. We are very satisfied with our experience and our pup seem healthy and happy. We look forward to sharing updates on our pup Ryder.
