Breeder of Assorted Doodle Crosses

Meet the breeder

I'm Denise H., the breeder behind This Land Delightful Doodles located in The Piedmont Triad, NC. We breed our Petite Doodles for exceptional companion temperament and lifelong health. At 10 to 25 pounds full grown, our Petite Doodles are the perfect size for a house dog who enjoys a variety of indoor and outdoor activities.

Q. & A. with Denise

  • Why did you start breeding?

I grew up in a dog breeding household, helping to raise my family's toy breed underfoot. In my teens I started training dogs, and trained professionally for about 10 years. I bred a few litters and then I started having my own human babies, so I took a long break, and am now returning to breeding 30 years later.
  • What makes your program special?

Doodles are my passion project, and with my adult daughters' help I am excited to bring our delightful Doodles into the world and into homes as family companions.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are petite size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, chocolate, red, apricot, and cream. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • DNA Disease Panel

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
