Q. & A. with Heather
Why did you start breeding?
Dogs have always been part of my story. I grew up alongside my grandparents’ German Shepherds, learning respect for strong, intelligent working dogs. I later bred Border Collies, but as my children began training wild mustangs, our needs changed. Searching for the right balance led me to English Springer Spaniels—loyal, eager, and truly at home with our family. What makes your program special?
My program is rooted in love, purpose, and family. Our puppies are raised in our home, surrounded by daily life, gentle handling, and intentional care from day one. Every pairing is thoughtfully chosen, and every puppy is cherished, nurtured, and prepared to become a confident, deeply bonded family companion. What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include tri-roan, liver white and roan, white and liver, white and black, red and white, orange and white, liver white and tan, liver and white, black white and tan, lemon and white, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

+5Heather from Thunderbird Springers was such a pleasure to work with! She was super responsive to my texts and calls and she and her family nurture such sweet-natured English springer spaniel puppies! I adopted Will a few weeks ago as a companion dog. He is such a lovable little guy! He has also been doing well with crate training! He settles really well and has even started doing basic commands well such as "sit" and "come". This is my first time purchasing a pure-bred puppy and Heather made sure I had all the paperwork when I picked Will up. My vet was even impressed with how Heather organized all the necessary documents and information in a nice folder for us. If you are looking for a good-natured and trainable English Springer Spaniel puppy who you will love forever I highly recommend Heather's puppies!

+4Our Georgie (Pooh from the 100 Acre Woods litter) is such a sweetheart. He is smart, curious, loves a good treat and is already a great snuggler. He fits right in with our family of 6! Working with Heather was a great experience as well and she was always quick to respond to questions, even with a busy holiday season.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Thunderbird springers. From the very first message, they were kind, responsive, and incredibly knowledgeable. They answered all of our questions with patience and made us feel completely confident throughout the entire process of bringing Reef home. If you are looking for a breeder who genuinely cares about their dogs and the families they go to, I cannot recommend them enough. We are so grateful for them and absolutely in love with our boy, Reef!

We are so thankful for Heather! Our sweet boy Taco is an incredible puppy! He came to us calm and well mannered. He clearly had tons of exposure already to being held, to a crate, to water. He is just fit into our family so nicely. Heather has also been available to give advice on an upset stomach that he had. She was totally available to help me and gave me great advice! I would highly highly recommend Heather and her family!

We couldn’t be happier to have purchased a puppy from Thunderbird Springers. Our puppy is the sweetest, smartest, and most well behaved puppy. Heather was accommodating to meet for pickup and ensured great care of our boy until we received him. Very grateful for the pleasant experience.
