Meet the breeder

I'm Brit A., the breeder behind Timberwood Paws located in Cincinnati, OH. My passion for this breed is poured into every aspect of my breeding program. I breed for structure and temperament in hopes of keeping back the best puppy for my program. Each of my adult dogs are tested for their eyes, hips and knees to ensure healthy puppies for you!

Q. & A. with Brit

  • Why did you start breeding?

I have always been invested in the well-being of animals. I wanted to give back to the breed by producing healthy pups and placing them into loving homes. It's an amazing feeling knowing that I made a positive contribution to these dogs and the families who love them!
  • What makes your program special?

I truly love the Shiba breed and am dedicated to looking out for the breed as a whole. I know the health and status of every dog I have bred and am proud of the temperament and conformation of my puppies. I am very dedicated to what I do and what I aim to achieve as a breeder. I work with passion, heart, and integrity, and I truly want what's best for my puppies!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Shiba Inu puppies include red, black and tan, and sesame. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

Brit was so responsive and knowledgable about Shiba! She shared habits of this breed, my puppy's personality, and regular updates about my puppy before we pick him up. On the pickup day, she drove 1.5 hr to a place closer to us, which helped a lot! She even gave us a puppy bag containing toys and treats.
