Meet the breeder

I'm Jenn K., the breeder behind Tirojuno French Bulldogs located in Charlotte, NC. I breed small scale and only have one litter at a time so that I can really dedicate my energy and focus on the puppies to give them a great start. I do all the recommended health testing and then some. My dogs are my family!

Q. & A. with Jenn

  • Why did you start breeding?

I wanted to really learn about the process, the amount of work and the money that went into a great program. I had hoped it would help me understand breeder clients at my clinic better. I also wanted to produce resilient puppies because I see so many pups come through without a lot of early learning done by breeders.
  • What makes your program special?

It’s very small. I have clear goals and am not afraid of the time it will take to reach them. I am a practical and reasonable person and I understand the struggles of trying to find a great dog from a great breeder and I’m trying to fill that void. I am invested in using my program long term to create healthier Frenchies and am offering incentives to owners to help me.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Spine (OFA, FCI), Tracheal Hypoplasia, Brucellosis

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

My mom got a puppy from Jennifer’s first litter, Atticus. I love him so much and he’s so fun to play with and be around. I then decided I wanted my own frenchie. Since I knew how well Atticus was breed I decide to get a frenchie from Jennifer. It was definitely the best decision I made. I decide to get Cabbage who is now named Calyspo and she is the best thing ever.
