I'm Tyisha H., the breeder behind TK Poodles located in Belleville, NJ. We breed for health & temperament primarily. Colors are a bonus! Genetic and OFA health testing is key component of our program. Our puppies are raised using the BAB curriculum which has proven to greatly improve outcomes for puppies and their families.

Why did you start breeding?
A decade ago, my husband and I purchased Chloe, a crème toy poodle. It was then when we fell in love with the breed. Shortly after Chole joined our family, Kadeem and I purchased our first home along with London, a red miniature poodle. London was the perfect addition to our family and the perfect sister for Chole. London’s temperament, beauty, color and fun size was captivating, we were completely in love. I said to my husband, “every family needs a London.” At that moment TK Poodles was established.What makes your program special?
Our program is home-based and our dogs are apart of our family. Breeding is done responsibly and intentionally. Health testing, ENS, ESI, Socialization, Litter box training, grooming exposure and temperament testing are just some key components of our program.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

Hip Dysplasia , Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Full Embark Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Tyisha and her family (together, TK Poodles) lovingly raise the cutest, best socialized pups we could imagine. We now have our male Mini Poodle Brady 8 months, and he has matured to be a well behaved young dog that retains all of his puppy curiosity and energy while constantly displaying his intelligence and eagerness to be part of our family. We both adore him. For his first 8 weeks, Tyisha and her family instilled confidence and adaptiveness into the puppy, closely leading him through education and play which has resulted in his becoming unafraid of noise, people and other animals. He was rock solid during the recent July 4 fireworks (most of our neighbors stated that their pets were frightened of the nearby loud sounds) and -- of course -- our pup is the "mayor" of the dog park! Let him in, and he sprints to the other dogs barking, "Hi, I'm Brady!!!". Seriously, Tyisha was (and continues to be) a source of great advice, support and enthusiasm for our journey. This has been particularly helpful to us as first time puppy owners. Oh, and the litters of red Poodles of various sizes are absolutely beautiful -- we get constant compliments. Thanks, Tyisha!

You can tell right away how much love she has and pours into all her puppies, and how important it is to her that they find loving homes. Even after we brought our puppy home, Tyisha made herself available to answer questions and help us settle in. She puts in so much work before the puppies come home to set them up for success; it only took our pup a few days to master crate and wee pad training because of all the work she had done while at TK! We had a wonderful experience with TK poodles! She cares so much about each and every one of her dogs and went that extra mile to make sure that we found the perfect fit for our family. She made the entire process so easy and even sent us home with a goody bag to help us make our puppy feel at home! She takes so much pride in her dogs and in the breed.
