I'm Trudy P., the breeder behind TLC by the Lake Standard Poodle and Doodles located in Mc Henry, MD. Trudy and Bill have been married 42 years and have 11 children and 17 grandchildren. They have spent the last 21 yrs working side by side to make TLC one of the most outstanding programs. TLC puppies are best of the breed not only for their beauty but also for health, temperament and intelligence.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Grew up her parents bred poodles. There were three crises within her young growing family and Trudy woke up and said it is not a need it is a want. Researched and found her Jenna who went on to be the matriarch of TLC by the Lake. We have gone from just Trudy to Trudy, Bill and Boys & the ability to be home & care for our Adopted Special Angles. In 2023 went back to our roots of 1 litter a time

  • What makes your program special?

    Our years of experience with blending puppies and kids with Trauma and knowing how to expose each to strengthen them to be the best they can be.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our Sheepadoodle puppies include miniature, medium, and standard sizes. Bernedoodle puppies include medium and standard sizes. Poodle puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our Sheepadoodle puppies are black and white. Bernedoodle puppies include white, chocolate merle, black and white, tri-color, phantom, and merle. Poodle puppies include black, brown, and cream. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and guardian homes.

Getting a puppy from Trudy

Trudy has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Trudy partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

“We work with every family to match with their life style and family make up to match the right puppy. At 4-5 wks of age we have a selection date where you are welcome to come here to pick or do it by facetime, etc.”

Puppy prices include a $350 non-refundable deposit and between $2,645 - $3,145 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes health guarantee, 1-2 Sets of Vaccine, De-worming, Microchip, AKC or CKC registration at Spay/Neuter, life time of support. Non refundable deposit because we ask you to research before deciding to go with TLC. The second you put a deposit down, we work to meet that need with a breeding.”

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Disease Panel, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1B), Bernese Mountain Dog Type, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I)
