Topmast Goldens

Pat S.

Breeder of Golden Retrievers

Meet the breeder

I'm Pat S., the breeder behind Topmast Goldens located in Otisville, MI. I follow the Avidog breeding program. I breed for performance and hunting homes. My dogs live in my home and are valued family members. My puppies need to be worked and will not be happy with just a neighborhood walk. All puppies are raised in my home with an active puppy raising program.

Q. & A. with Pat

  • Why did you start breeding?

Gayle Watkins, Gaylan's Goldens. Bought a dog from her, co-bred two litters with her before going out on my own with her help.
  • What makes your program special?

Avidog breeding and puppy raising program. Puppies are raised in my home with an active puppy raising program. They are socialized with my other dogs, meet lots of visitors, have an enriched puppy raising area with lots of toys, things to climb on, and interactive moving objects. They are introduced to many noises and birds. They are given a new scent to smell from day 3-17 to stimulate active brain/scent smells early in life.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
