Q. & A. with Jennifer
Why did you start breeding?
I have always loved animals and grew up on a farm. When I became an adult I knew I wanted a Dane and fell in love with a beautiful black female puppy. That was the start of it all. Sixteen years later, I can’t imagine not having a Great Dane in my life. They are always faithful, whether it’s on the couch or in the ring. They just want to be with you.
What makes your program special?
My puppies are raised in my home with my family. Starting at 3 days old, I start using the techniques and enrichments advocated by Puppy Culture. It’s a great tool that coincides with the mental development of the puppy. I also do Volhard testing at 49 days old, it gives a good account of temperament and helps me determine which puppy will be suitable for which type of home.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
