I'm Jessica and Jason J., the breeder behind Upper Park Goldens located in Chico, CA. We provide AKC registered, champion line, purebred Golden Retriever puppies with excellent bloodlines & top pedigree. Our puppies are friendly, easily trainable, & highly intelligent. You'll fall in love at first sight.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My mom started it all. From as young as I can remember puppies were a part of my life, so cute and fluffy. It's a beautiful legacy that's committed to quality in care and excellence in breeding passed down from generation to generation Now that I have a daughter of my own, I hope to continue that great legacy. ~2nd generation breeders since 1985~

  • What makes your program special?

    International, National, and Honors Championship Titles with IABCA Kinshasa earned her AKC Community and Advanced Canine Good Citizen Title. Each female has been cleared through genetic testing and health certified through AKC. We breed not just for excellent lines both also lovable temperament and trainability. We breed with excellence and integrity.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include dark golden and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Jessica and Jason

Jessica and Jason has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Jessica and Jason partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $3,000 - $4,300 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Jessica and Jason may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • DNA Disease Panel, Ichthyosis, Golden Retriever Type, Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis 5 (NCL5), Golden Retriever Type, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), PRA, Golden Retriever 2, PRA, Golden Retriever 1

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Jessica has been absolutely amazing to work with, from the beginning all the way through to now (when our dog is over 1). She helped to guide us towards which of the two upcoming litters would be the best fit for our family, and then throughout the process helped us to choose the perfect puppy for our family once they were born. She is so knowledgeable and clearly cares about Golden Retrievers and breeding healthy, family-friendly dogs. During the course of picking our puppy, we found out that we were pregnant, and I have been absolutely amazed with our puppy during this whole transition with our baby. Miss Peya (our sweet pup) was 8 months old when our baby was born, and she is so gentle with our son. She is so loving, so snuggly, and the smartest dog we've had yet. I cannot recommend Upper Park Goldens more, you will get a wonderful family dog, and also so much support and care from Jessica's side.

    From the first time that I talked with Jessica on the phone and after our initial meeting it was obvious that Upper Park Goldens was definitely where we were going to get our new puppy. Their knowledge of golden retrievers and their focus on improving the breed was obvious during our conversations. They kept us up to date on everything that was happening and when we could expect the birth of our little girl. Since we are local, we got to go visit the puppies a few times and play with our little Keilani before we took her home. It was obvious that they truly love their puppies. On the day that we got to pick her up, they had a backpack for us that was overflowing with wonderful items that we would need for the transition from their house to ours. Jessica even checked on us the day after to see how our first night went and she has continued to check on us to make sure that everything is going smoothly. Keilani is our fourth golden and it looks like she will be, by far, the easiest to train. She is patient and eager to learn. It is obvious that the puppies are given every opportunity to learn and grow so that they will be happy and well adjusted. I am so truly glad that we found Upper Park Goldens. It has been an absolute joy working with them.
