I'm Abigail K., the breeder behind Urban Hero Poodles located in Tullahoma, TN. We enjoy showing our dogs, & they are our companions in every adventure. We do all we can to give our dogs & pups the best lives. Our passion for our dogs shows through our responsible breeding practices. We hope to help families find their puppies from responsible and ethical sources to help build a better and safer world for our dogs.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I fell in the love with poodles and love creating excellent family members. As a veterinarian I see so many animals suffering from anxiety or fear. Their families suffer so much because of their pets behavior. I never want my puppy families to experience the negativity of poor temperament. I want to create the best family members that can do anything with their owners.

  • What makes your program special?

    We focus on the all around poodle. We like our poodles to have that poodle look and type, but we also expect them to be trainable, motivated and enjoy working and learning. They also have great off switches and can settle on the couch when not working. Our poodles love their humans and love doing anything and everything for and with them.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include black, blue, and parti. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and guardian homes.

Getting a puppy from Abigail

Abigail has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Abigail partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

“At Urban Hero Poodles, puppies are not assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Every puppy is placed based on temperament, conformation, and fit. Pick order does not determine placement. Between 6 and 8 weeks of age, each puppy undergoes a structured temperament evaluation. We assess confidence, sensitivity, retrieve drive, food motivation, social engagement, and response to handling and novel stimuli. These evaluations give us a clear picture of each puppy's personality and working potential, and they guide every placement decision we make. For puppies going into show or co-own programs, we also conduct a conformation evaluation to assess structure, movement, coat, and breed type against the AKC Standard. Puppies with exceptional structure and drive are placed into our show and breeding program first. Pet placements follow from there. Once evaluations are complete, we match each puppy to the home where they are most likely to thrive. A high-drive puppy with strong retrieve motivation goes to an active family committed to sport or service work. A softer, more sensitive puppy goes to a quieter household where they can be someone's heart dog. We do not force a puppy into a home that does not fit their nature, regardless of deposit order. This process requires trust. We ask applicants to be honest about their lifestyle, experience level, and what they are genuinely looking for in a dog. The more honest you are in your application and interview, the better we can do our job. Our goal is a match that works for the lifetime of the dog. That is the only outcome we are interested in.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Price includes limited registration. Puppy is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and double registered (UKC/AKC). Puppies are raised with puppy culture and ENS/ESI. Deposit is due after the puppies are born to hold your spot. Puppies are matched to owners based on temperament and family needs/wants at 8-10 weeks.”

Contract & health guarantee

Abigail may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation
