I'm Sheryl B., the breeder behind Valley of the Sun Breeders located in Phoenix, AZ. We work hard to breed exemplary dogs that are well taken care of from day one and are prepared to excel in loving and caring homes. We love our dogs and puppies, and we strive to place each pup in a home suited to their temperament and ability.
Q. & A. with Sheryl
Why did you start breeding?
We purposefully sought out a beautiful golden retriever with a good pedigree. Had her OFA health certifications when she became of age to breed to make sure we had a green light. Finding the best stud is always a top priority!!
What makes your program special?
We only pick our studs with the same build and coat as our female. This way we can protect the blood line and produce the kind and style that has produced outstanding goldendoodles. Hazel is Maizey’s puppy and has passed all health tests. She is beautiful with an amazing temperament. Coloring is ombré on her legs and head. She is super sweet and loving. Her puppies show the same characteristics.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our Goldendoodle puppies are medium size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Goldendoodle puppies include cream, apricot, chocolate, and phantom. Golden Retriever puppies include golden and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Good level
Valley of the Sun Breeders reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Goldendoodles.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
