Meet the breeder

I'm Evangeline S., the breeder behind Vintage Corgis located in Dunbar, NE. Our Corgis are also family members and live in our house with us. Our puppies are well socialized and handled with love on a daily basis. We seek to place our puppies in loving homes and remain a life long resource to our buyers for assistance and information. We are committed to breeding quality dogs with correct structure, intelligence, and excellent dispositions. To this end, we follow breed-recommended health testing protocols, breed standards of excellence, and performance and quality test our Corgis in the show ring.

Q. & A. with Evangeline

  • Why did you start breeding?

I was a horse breeder first. I switched to dogs following my daughter's greater interest.
  • What makes your program special?

We seek to produce dogs that are genetically healthy, intelligent, and beautiful. We want to breed dogs that could compete in conformation and performance even if they only compete for their owner's attention on the couch.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

American Corgi puppies include sable and white, fawn, red and white, sable, red merle and white, red, blue merle and white, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

We could not be happier with our experience! From the very beginning, it was clear how much love and care Evangeline puts into raising her puppies. Our little “Twix”came home happy, healthy, potty trained, and well-socialized — It’s obvious he was given so much love and affection during his first weeks of life. Communication was wonderful throughout the process and all the information shared was invaluable. Evangeline truly goes above and beyond to ensure her puppies are set up for success in their forever homes. We are so grateful for the dedication and heart she puts into what she does. We are just in such awe of our “Twix”, and we couldn’t recommend Evangeline more highly!

Evangeline is delightful! She was responsive and helpful every step of the way. We adopted Poppy and she is truly is a wonderful pup and the perfect addition to our family! Both my daughter and son absolutely adore her, love taking her for walks, and teaching her tricks. She helps me drop off and pick up the kids to school, where she gets lots of love and attention. She's quickly becoming our adventure buddy, learning to enjoy bath time, and gives the best cuddles! We're always outside playing with neighborhood kids and Poppy has quickly become a popular playmate. She also has puppy play dates with my friend's dog who lives three houses down from us. Poppy continues to work wonders on my mental health as I navigate through my chemo journey. She keeps me smiling and helps me maintain a strong, positive mindset. We are all so incredibly thankful for her!

Evangeline was wonderful to work with as we were looking to add a new corgi to our family. She was responsive and patient with all my questions, and I was especially impressed with her transparency regarding health screenings. Our pup Ruby (renamed Muffin) has been an absolute joy in the few weeks since she's joined our family. She has a great temperament--sweet, affectionate, intelligent. We couldn't be happier with our experience with Evangeline and Vintage Corgis.

We have had Honey for two weeks now and she is all we could hope for. Our experience with Vintage Corgi's, and particularly with Evangeline, was great. I appreciated her expertise as a vet and her straightforward demeanor. Both helped us have comfort in choosing a dog that was halfway across the country. The logistics were not straightforward due to the summer heat and travel constraints but Evangeline made communication and decision-making easy.

Evangeline made the entire process very simple and easy. She was a great communicator and answered every question I had very quickly. She bred a great dog and sent all the documentation and some helpful instructions with him. I would definitely use her again in the future.
