I'm John M., the breeder behind Vom Haus Borchardt GSD Kennels located in Oconomowoc, WI. My litters are bred with the intention of producing medium /high drive, solid,sound, clear and stable puppies for placement in working/service /pet homes. We start with environmental stimuli from birth and to the basics of obedience and Schutzhund as soon as they are able to actively play.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I love the working line breed and I wanted to contribute to preserving it,as well as providing people with phenomenal dogs with a happy ending and loving stories.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include plush and stock coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include sable, black and tan, black and red, and black and cream. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from John

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 refundable deposit and between $1,000 - $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price also includes a health guarantee, AKC registration, first round of vaccinations, deworming, and a microchip. A deposit guarantees your spot on our waiting list. Your deposit is refundable until you select your puppy. Once you select a puppy the deposit is no longer refundable.”

  • Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary), Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary), Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Temperament Test

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
