I'm Lora & Jerry S., the breeder behind vom Haus Regenbaum located in Fairmont, WV. We aim to breed quality dogs with good confirmation with the drive that can participate in sports (like IGP and AKC) but also have the temperament to be able to live in the house. Our goal is to find owners who will develop, train, care for, and continue lineage of the line and breed as appropriate.
Q. & A. with Lora & Jerry
Why did you start breeding?
We waited many years through several dogs to make sure we had the right candidates. With Yva, we knew it was our responsibility to make sure her personality, traits, and DNA continued and add to the GSD standard.
What makes your program special?
Our dogs are not only our partners on the training field, they are members of our family. We walk that delicate balance between sport and pet. We are not a puppy mill and don't do this as a business; our primary goal is to create puppies that continue the best of the breed standard and place them with homes, handlers, and owners who will facilitate that.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include sable and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

We hope all of our puppies are thriving in their new homes! Purple and (maybe) Green are still available to sport/working/very active homes! Just a reminder to the owners of all the new puppies, tonight is toenail Tuesday. Staying ahead of this task weekly with a small Dremel tool will help their nails from getting out of control.... Also next week the next round of shots are due so be talking to your vets...

vom Haus Regenbaum reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for German Shepherds.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Temperament Test
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
