I'm Chelsea A., the breeder behind Walnut Ridge Farms OES located in Mc Connell’s, SC. We use Early Neurological Stimulation to better prepare our puppies for training, socializing, and brain development.
We breed considering a variety of traits, including health, conformation, temperament, and allergies.
We emphasize the proper socialization and training of our puppies, and we strive to promote responsible dog ownership.
Both mom and dad are both AKC registered within their breed, along with OFC health tested, embark genetic tested, with a pedigree for both.
We love these gentle giants with their “bear-like” look who thrive on companionship, love to play, and are always ready to turn heads with their fluffy coats and expressive eyes. Whether you’re looking for a devoted family dog or a friendly adventure buddy, this breed brings endless joy and charm to any household.
Key Features:
✔ Playful, affectionate, and great with children
✔ Intelligent and trainable with a fun-loving personality
✔ Iconic shaggy coat that turns heads
✔ Loyal and protective, making them excellent family dogs.
Q. & A. with Chelsea
Why did you start breeding?
OLD ENGLISH SHEEPDOGS
When we got Aggie we noticed that Old English Sheepdogs are not super available. They are hard to find and not all breeders are improving the breed. We wanted to be able to share the love of Old English Sheepdogs while being accountable to improving the breed and helping educate how to care for, love, and train outstanding OES dogs.
What makes your program special?
Our puppies are our family. We love & care for them while helping them get use to the world around them. A good dog is an acclimated dog to it’s surroundings and environment. We start Early Neurological Stimulation on day 3 with our pups which improves their stress responses later in life. We expose them to different sounds & textures & help them get use to their world around them in a loving environment.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are gray and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Excellent level
Walnut Ridge Farms OES reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Old English Sheepdogs.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Full Embark Panel, Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
