Waterbound Kooikerhondjes

Sheryl F.

Breeder of Nederlandse Kooikerhondjes

Meet the breeder

I'm Sheryl F., the breeder behind Waterbound Kooikerhondjes located in Alvin, TX. Since 2008, our goal at Waterbound has been to produce beautiful, companion dogs that are able and willing to compete in all aspects of canine activities. We are a small kennel with a limited but well-planned breeding program. This means that each breeding is of tremendous importance to us. We concentrate our efforts on caring for and socializing our pups. We follow a unique, state-of-the-art puppy rearing and development program that gives all of our pups, no matter their future, the best possible start in life.

Q. & A. with Sheryl

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started breeding dogs about 30 years ago. At that time I had Basenjis. I bred each of my females only once when I was ready for a new puppy to show and compete with. I now have a more extensive breeding program with the Nederlandse Kooikerhondje.
  • What makes your program special?

I bred the first and only AKC Best in Show Kooikerhondje. What makes it special is the knowledge I have of pedigrees and conformation in my breed and the dedication I have to continue learning and improving.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
