Meet the breeder

I'm Kate W., the breeder behind Waterford Doodle Farm located in Lithia, FL. Our pups are raised with love and care. We take time with each of them daily, cleaning them, caring for their health, as well as socializing them and handling them in a way that will make things such as grooming, training, and vet visits easier on you! We raise our puppies in the AviDog program, concentrating on early nerve stimulation, scents, and basic training.

Q. & A. with Kate

  • Why did you start breeding?

We were introduced to a friend's doodle. We were intrigued by the lack of shedding, probably the only downside to Aussies in our opinion. So we decided to breed our first litter! We purchased a Standard Poodle from a friend who was moving. She happened to already by pregnant to a Bernese Mountain Dog. While we entertained Bernedoodles, our hearts were really with Aussiedoodles! So it started! Now we raise Aussiedoodles, Standard Poodles, Bernedoodles and mini Aussies!
  • What makes your program special?

We utilize the Good Dog education system to work with our puppies from newborn until the time they go home. We work with each puppy individually on certain basic training including grooming, handling, dealing with stressors, follow commands, and even beginning potty training. Our moms and dads are all family dogs who play and train with us on our family farm.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Bernedoodle puppies are standard size. Poodle puppies are standard size. Australian Labradoodle puppies include miniature and medium sizes. Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies are miniature size. Aussiedoodle puppies include mini and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Bernedoodle puppies include black and white and tri-color. Poodle puppies include black, blue, and brown. Australian Labradoodle puppies are red. Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies include black & white, blue merle, black tri, red tri, red merle, red, and black. Aussiedoodle puppies include blue merle, red merle, black and white, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

We are absolutely in love with our little Bailey! Kate allowed us to visit our puppy when he was 4 weeks old and 6 weeks old before bringing him home. He has such an amazing personality and potty training is already going great! We would absolutely get another puppy from Kate and Waterford Doodle Farm!

Molly and Dasher’s baby Bernedoodle – Bart born 10/03/2024 We just moved from Key Largo to Port Saint Lucie Florida on January 6-7, and lots of chaos still abounds! Maybe that’s not a good time to get a new puppy, but Kate was kind enough to hold him an extra week for us. This is going to be a very big boy when full grown, likely 100 pounds. He is very well mannered, cuddly, and happy. We wanted a big boy to assist Darlene, who has Multiple Sclerosis. We have already begun 18-month training to have him be a service dog to her. He loves playing, chasing balls, pulling all clothes or shoes not placed out of reach to his bed, and of course chewing anything he can get his teeth around - after all, he is still teething. We have had him two weeks, and everyone that comes to help with house set-up or to visit falls in love with him. From the get-go, he followed Ken everywhere he went, and although we initially had other plans, we had to name him Shadow.

The whole experience was so easy. Kate was very responsive to all of our questions. Our puppy is also the greatest. We will hopefully reach out again in a years time for another puppy .

Kate made finding our boy Hugo so easy & seamless! She was very quick to answer any questions that we had throughout the whole experience. When we went to meet Hugo she was so welcoming, we met all of the pups, who were all adorable, but ultimately we fell in love with Hugo. We also got to meet the parents and interact with them, they are both so friendly and cuddly and can even hug! Hugo is the most lovey dovey puppy I have ever met, we are so happy that we found Kate and Hugo & we would 100% recommend working with Kate to anyone!🤍
