Meet the breeder

I'm SCOTTIE B., the breeder behind West KY Goldens located in Hampton, KY. Our dogs are our passion, and we can't imagine spending our lives without them. We are dedicated to achieving excellent puppies that are healthy, loving and easy to train. With our GOOD MANNERS TRAINING PROGRAM, we pour as much as we can into the puppies to prepare them for their forever homes.

Q. & A. with SCOTTIE

  • Why did you start breeding?

Our breeding program started (apart from my love of dogs) as a way to bring our family together. My husband traveled for his job all of our married life (25 years). We didn't want to give up homeschooling, so I prayed for a way to supplement our income that we could do as a family and bring Jeff home. 7 years ago, God led me to breed dogs and Jeff's been home for 3 years. I'm so thankful.
  • What makes your program special?

GOOD MANNERS TRAINING PROGRAM: I quickly noticed the potential for training very young puppies BEFORE they leave us. I ran with it! Our program includes: ENS, socialization, beginning potty training to pad and outside, bite inhibition, beginning command training of COME, SIT, and AUTOMATIC SIT, nose work, and more. We have lots of videos of this on our website and social media if interested.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
