I'm Kate L., the breeder behind Whiskey River Siberians located in Sherwood, OR. Dreaming of a husky that can chill after the adventure? That's our specialty! Our dogs are known for their calm, easygoing temperaments, affectionate personalities, and ability to fit seamlessly into family life. We raise AKC Huskies that are as wonderful on the couch as they are on the trail.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My passion for breeding began with my own three exceptional dogs. Their calm, easygoing temperaments and loving personalities showed me how wonderful huskies can be as family companions. They are loyal, affectionate, and fit seamlessly into everyday life, which inspired me to share those qualities with others. My goal is to responsibly breed healthy, well-socialized puppies with excellent temperaments, giving families the opportunity to experience the same joy and companionship that my dogs have brought to my life. Every puppy is raised with care, love, and attention to help them grow into confident, happy, and well-rounded companions.

  • What makes your program special?

    What makes our breeding program special is the lifelong support we provide to every puppy and family. All puppies come with a lifetime breeder guarantee and return policy, ensuring they always have a safe place to go if circumstances change. Puppies are raised with plenty of socialization and come home with a veterinary health clearance, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations, and deworming. We also maintain a puppy Facebook group, encourage littermate playdates, and love staying connected with our extended puppy family. Our commitment doesn't end when your puppy goes home, it's a lifelong relationship.

Getting a puppy from Kate

Kate has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Kate partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $1,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“All Pups come with prepaid limited AKC registration, AKC reunite Microchips, Litter certificate and pedigree. They receive a vet clearance, 8 week shot and wormings. Puppy contract required. A deposit will hold a puppy you choose or give you a priority pick of a future litter.”

Contract & health guarantee

Kate may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Siberian Husky Shaking Puppy Syndrome, Type 1 (SPS1), Siberian Husky Polyneuropathy, Type 1 (SHPN1), DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Being a distance away and no phone contact at first made us a bit nervous but all worked out well eventually. My son and friend went to pick Kuaui {now "Blue"} up. Directions were great and Kate was very accommodating. Her breeding stock and puppies were raised in a clean and humane environment. All appeared loved and well taken care of.
