Meet the breeder

I'm Shirley W., the breeder behind Whistling Wind Corgi’s located in Shelley, ID. All of our puppies are bred, raised, and loved to produce happy, healthy pets for those seeking the best family companion! We are a small, in-home breeding program where we prioritize giving each dog and puppy the best care that we can. We cherish all of our animals and enjoy sharing the love of this breed with other individuals and families! All puppies are clear of DM, EIC & VWD1.

Q. & A. with Shirley

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got into the corgis because of their size, fun personalities and their herding instinct. Missy loves to go out with me to the cows and doesn’t let them get to close to me. I fell in love with the corgis and thought others would also. Good genetics are extremely important to me, so I have worked hard to get good dogs. I have always loved baby animals. Watching them grow and develop is so rewarding.
  • What makes your program special?

Our breeding program has been in the works for a very long time. We have looked very hard to find DNA clear corgis, with the sweet disposition and quality that is so important. All our dogs are clear of EIC, VWD1, and DM.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red, sable, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

“The price includes AKC registration papers, first round of vaccinations, deworming and lots of socializing with the kids. Typically a small deposit ($100) is paid to be put on my waitlist then when puppies are born, you pay the rest of the deposit ($400). When the puppies leave at 8 weeks old, the balance is due. If you pay a deposit to be on the waitlist and there are not enough of your gender choice of puppy you can choose to transfer your deposit to another litter OR ask for a refund. If there is at least one of your gender choice of puppies and you do NOT want any of your choice(s) you can transfer your deposit to future litter. No refund will be given.”
