Meet the breeder

I'm Wild Mountain Haven K., the breeder behind Wild Mountain Haven K9 located in Chatham, VA. Our dogs are bred for their temperament and health with an emphasis on conformation. The structure has its purpose so joints don't easily break down from working or even day-to-day activities. Strong nerves, and drive for trainability , while still maintaining temperaments to be able to be your new companion.

Q. & A. with Wild Mountain Haven

  • Why did you start breeding?

I first started helping a breeder friend with her dogs and puppies at age 13, It ended up going into working with another breeder and so forth. I have experience training, showing, working in Kennels, for groomers and trainers and everything in between. I trained with a Columbus LEO for many years before he passed in the line of duty. I was gifted dogs and co-owns to start and eventually went on to where I am today.
  • What makes your program special?

I put my everything into my program every day. I am here for the good or bad. I enjoy attending seminars to learn more and take the time to Health test, train, and learn what structure and working ability really is and how they should go together. I like to have a nice dog to look at, If the dog is a mess structurally the body will break down with work it was intended to do or day to day life.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Wild Mountain Haven was exactly what I was searching for in a breeder. Lindsey’s deep knowledge of German Pinschers is matched only by her evident love for the breed and her devotion to each dog and puppy in her care. The health testing of the parents was non-negotiable for me, and Lindsey met that standard with transparency and professionalism. But what truly sets her apart is the 24/7 “puppy tech support”—an invaluable lifeline when navigating life with the rambunctious bundle of energy I brought home. From our very first conversation, Lindsey has been responsive, thoughtful, and generous with her time, offering expert advice, creative problem-solving, and steady encouragement as we journey through puppyhood together. I’m excited to continue working with Lindsey as we prepare for the show ring and explore companion and performance dog sports. If you’re considering a German Pinscher and want a breeder who combines ethical practices, breed expertise, and unwavering support, I wholeheartedly recommend Wild Mountain Haven.

Five-Star Experience with Lindsey We recently welcomed our beautiful red German Pinscher, Sunna, into our home—and we couldn’t be more in love. She’s everything we hoped for: confident, healthy, intelligent, and absolutely glowing with personality. Lindsey made this entire experience seamless and joyful from start to finish. From the very first message, Lindsey was incredibly responsive and generous with her time. She answered all our questions with deep knowledge and genuine care, and her passion for the breed truly shines through. Throughout the process, she kept us updated with regular photos of Sunna growing up, which made the wait so exciting and personal. Sunna is smart, athletic, and incredibly responsive—working with her and helping her learn has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. She’s not just a pet; she’s a partner, and every day with her feels like a gift. It’s clear that Lindsey puts her heart into her dogs.
