Meet the breeder

I'm Amanda A., the breeder behind Willow Creek Farm located in Brandon, IA. At Willow Creek Farm, our puppies are raised on our 14-acre farm. We believe the best puppies come from a happy, enriched environment. They are handled daily, introduced to new sights, sounds, & textures, and given room to explore and play. Each puppy is part of our family until they join yours!

Q. & A. with Amanda

  • Why did you start breeding?

I’ve always been interested in raising dogs and have owned Poodles for most of my life. About 5 yrs ago we decided to look into Bernedoodles—and quickly fell head over heels for them! In our opinion, they’re the perfect combination of smart, loving, and loyal, while also offering a lower-shedding, more allergy-friendly option. Now our goal is to help others feel the love and joy of a Bernedoodle!
  • What makes your program special?

At Willow Creek Farm, we raise healthy, well-socialized Bernedoodles with love and care. Our parents are health-tested, and puppies are raised in our home with daily handling, enrichment, and early training. We do our best to prepare each puppy for a confident, happy life and offer lifetime support to every family. We are a very small operation to ensure our puppies get 100% of our attention.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red, tri-color, phantom, and blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing

Good level

Willow Creek Farm reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Bernedoodles.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Disease Panel

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
