I'm Patty D., the breeder behind Willow Springs Havanese located in Rogersville, TN. We breed top-quality Havanese that are healthly and well socialized to bring you the perfect family pet! Q. & A. with Patty
Why did you start breeding?
When I met him, my husband had been breeding Labs for many years. When I discovered the Havanese breed, I began showing them. The natural next step was to breed them. I find it incredibly fulfilling to bring them into this world and watch them grow day by day. I show my adult dogs in AKC conformation classes and am the Vice President of the Central Carolina Havanese Club.
What makes your program special?
Good breeding starts with making sure my adult dogs have correct conformation, health, and temperament. Healthy parents are the best guarantee of healthy puppies! We begin ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) at 3 days old to encourage more active, healthy, and confident puppies. Puppies are exposed and desensitized to many common sounds, including vacuuming, bathing, and the hair dryer.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
