Q. & A. with Katie
Why did you start breeding?
Our family has had the amazing privilege to adopt 4 of our children. Our daughter was born with some unique challenges and one thing that we found that has helped her over time, was the companionship of our doodles. When we discovered the outgoing, loveable, intelligent nature of our dogs, we knew we wanted to breed in order to offer high quality companionship to other families.
What makes your program special?
We are with our puppies 24/7 from the time they are born! Our whole family is part of the process, ensuring that the puppies absorb as much love and training as they can in the beginning weeks of their lives. It is very important to us that our dogs are not just cute and cuddly, but that they have the best start to developing wonderful personalities and dispositions. It's our desire to better the breed so others can enjoy them for years to come.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our Bernedoodle puppies are medium size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Bernedoodle puppies include black and white, tri-color, phantom, and merle. Irish Doodle puppies include apricot and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Our puppies have completed their Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI) exercises, helping build a strong foundation for resilience and confidence. Around two weeks of age, their eyes began to open, and they’ve started to explore the world with growing curiosity. Their wobbly little legs are getting stronger by the day as they learn to walk, interact with their littermates, and discover their voices—such a sweet and special stage!

After our beloved dog passed away….we never thought we’d get another dog. Somehow I found Katie at Willow-Be Doodles. I sent my application. Had many questions. Katie was there answering all of them.. Keeping us updated on all our puppy’s developments. We were so excited when we finally got to hold our little Sally at the airport. We are very lucky to have found Katie.

We found Willow-Be Doodles on www.gooddog.com after deciding to look for a Bernedoodle puppy when our family dog passed. We were heartbroken and feeling vulnerable, nervous that we might be making a mistake by bringing in a new dog too soon. Not being familiar with this breed or with modern breeding programs, we felt like we were stepping into the unknown and taking a huge risk. We were wary of trusting anyone after buying our last dog from a breeder who (we have since realized) concealed important health information and then disappeared. From our first interaction to the most recent, Katie and her family have been completely open with us, allowing us to be part of our little guy's life long before we brought him home. She was quick to answer all of my questions, even reaching out to other breeders and owners so she could share experiences and knowledge outside of her own. She sent pictures and videos regularly and, when we finally held him for the first time, we felt like we already knew him and certainly loved him.
We live far from PA, so we needed to look at transport options. After letting her know we had decided it wasn't possible to make the trip ourselves, Katie arranged transport within a few hours. The price was fair and the experience was fantastic. Our pup arrived with health papers in order and a bag of goodies to get us started.
He's been with us for a little over a month now, and Katie is still just as involved with the "adoption" as she always was. We are now the ones sending pics and videos her way, and it almost feels like he's got one, big, blended family, lol. Their entire family gets just as excited as we do when he learns something new or even just poses adorably for a picture. It's been evident from the start that he was much loved - not just another puppy to sell.
My 12yo son and I have decided to train our guy to become a therapy dog, and he is well on his way towards meeting this goal. He arrived completely crate and potty trained and learned all basic commands within a few days. Within a couple of weeks, he was ready to venture out and behaved perfectly on the leash around strangers and other animals. He has been welcomed into a variety of stores, joined us on a kayaking trip (with a guide who was extremely nervous at first but who, sooner than later, fell in love with our pup and said he hoped to see us again), has gone on camping trips and just about a million car rides, and has handled every single adventure beautifully. He has been a totally non-reactive dog from the start - he's watched (or slept through) more than one fireworks show, he sleeps through thunderstorms, is totally chill while kids are running around playing and slamming doors, while instruments are being played and chainsaws or vacuums are running, and he doesn't flinch during baths. We have been prepping him for vet and groomer visits. He allows me to brush every part of him without a care, he opens his mouth on command and patiently waits for me to check his teeth, and I can lift his rear end off the floor and poke around at his paws and ears without any resistance. He even rolls over onto his back to let me see his belly. At our last vet visit, the doctor said we had clearly found a top-notch, high-caliber breeder.
Our experience working with Willow-Be Doodles has been seriously awesome. We hope to someday adopt another dog, and he will most definitely be from Willow-Be Doodles.

I had been searching for a puppy for the past year. In my search I came across Katie who connected me with Good Dogs. Katie was very knowledgeable with placing me with the right puppy. She is very professional through transparency with her business practices through videos and pictures. Katie is very hands on with responds to questions and concerns. Also my privacy was respected through the payment portal. I followed Katie’s recommendations prior to Nahla arrival in setting up her play room. Katie even sent me a welcome box via postal mail along with some food. How awesome is that! The flight arrangement went very smoothly with a very happy and loved puppy. I noticed Nahla has already been pre-trained in some areas making the process even better. The entire experience with Katie and Good Dogs exceeded my expectations.
