I'm Terry M., the breeder behind Xceptional Cotons located in New Albany, IN. A code of ethics breeder seeking to preserve and advance only the healthiest dogs both physically and mentally. The goal we set and which I believe is still the most important, is to produce healthy puppies that make a well-rounded character in an adult dog.
Q. & A. with Terry
Why did you start breeding?
After owning a Coton who does not meet breed standards and suffers from life-threatening conditions but is absolutely perfect, I wondered how much better can these dogs be when bred ethically. The journey began there and then!
What makes your program special?
I do complete DNA testing on all my dogs, as well as for hips, elbows, patellas, heart, eyes, thyroid and CBC testing when much less is required. I do eCOI analysis with potential mates, as well as any other variable such as color. I raise all pups using the Puppy Culture protocol.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
