I'm Liz H., the breeder behind Yellow Dog Farm located in Fort Collins, CO. Our dogs are bred for health and temperament. All parents are health tested to OFA standards. Our puppies are raised on an advanced service dog curriculum. Puppies are temperament tested at 7 weeks old to help ensure every puppy finds their perfect family.

Why did you start breeding?
I have been an animal lover all of my life and I have always wanted to produce service dogs. I began breeding labs, but when I met my first poodle I knew I found just the breed I was looking for. Smart, easy to train, and so lovable.
What makes your program special?
As a breeder I am constantly striving to produce the healthiest, most well balanced puppies. All our puppies are raised on an advance curriculum to teach them that the world is safe, people are kind, and dogs are friendly. I also stand behind every puppy from my program for life!
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include apricot, black, blue, red, silver, and parti. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Liz

Liz has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Liz partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

“Puppies are chosen in order of the reservation list on Go-Home day when the puppies are 8 weeks old. Each family on the waitlist will have a designated time to come and meet with the puppies in order of the reservation list and make their selection. ”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes health guarantee, AKC registration, vaccinations, microchip, and deworming. Puppies are sold on limited registration. Full registration will be considered to approved programs. Deposit goes toward total purchase price. If a good match isn't found when puppy picks take place, you can move your deposit toward the next available litter.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. About Doc
Doc is an incredibly handsome and incredibly sweet red and white miniature poodle who lives in a guardian home nearby. His favorite activities are cuddling on his owner's lap and playing fetch. He is very smart and loves to learn new tricks. He is 14" tall and weighs 13lbs.

About Betty White
Just like her namesake, Betty White is a charming little lady loved by everyone who meets her. She is gentle, affectionate, and incredibly eager to please. She is my "little angel" and is always on her best behavior. She is 13" tall and weighs 12lbs. She finished her UKC Championship in November of 2023.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
