I'm Whitney L., the breeder behind Zealous Danes located in Logan, WV. We are a small scale breeding program. Averaging a litter every year and a half or so. Limited registration on all. We stay in touch with all our families & love to keep it that way.

Why did you start breeding?
Husband wanted a Dane, I said I’d find the right one. But I took that as permission to take it and run with it and started my breeding endeavor because I love the baby aspect, growth and life of them. I knew I had a lot to offer them & intended to do it to the best of capability & there’s always more to learn.What makes your program special?
We have a few that are non breeding but will always stay with us, even when it gets chaotic. I stay in touch with my pawrents & am fortunate enough to have a few close by that I’m able to dogsit & visit with. It’s been a blessing.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Parent health testing
Zealous Danes reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Great Danes.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Full Embark Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
