Dakota (formerly Flurry) made it home to Connecticut, and we loved receiving this update from her new family! 🤍🐾 Melanie L shared: “We made it home around 4 today. She was absolutely amazing the entire LOONNNNGGG ride! She definitely had some training! She did great with introductions and is very unfazed by our chickens, geese, cats, and larger dogs!” Melanie and her family made the long journey from Missouri to Connecticut with Dakota, and we are so happy she traveled so well. Dakota will be guarding chickens and white Chinese geese and joining her new animal family, which includes two Doberman canine siblings and two cats. We spend a great deal of time with our puppies from the very beginning, including Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), Early Scent Introduction (ESI), Early Tactile Introduction (ETI), Early Sound Stimulation (ESS), Early Novelty Exposure (ENE), and daily handling with TEN Touch Exercises. Because of this early foundation, our puppies transition into their new homes with confidence. This photo shows Dakota with Melanie L and her husband when they came to pick her up. 🤍🐾 Congratulations, Melanie! Dakota has a wonderful life ahead of her.

Puppy update from Valentino’s (formerly Crystal) new Mama, Jill. “Thank you 🙏🏻 She is an Angel sent from above 💕 !!! I will Treasure Her ❤️” This sweet girl completed her big journey from Missouri to Florida with me (Kara), and she truly was an angel the entire trip. 🐾🤍 She rode beautifully in the car, played with her toys, and we took nice breaks along the way. Every stop gave her a chance to stretch her legs, explore a little, and enjoy the adventure. She was wonderful on leash, relaxed in her crate, and slept peacefully with me in the hotel overnight like a little travel pro. 🐾🤍 Watching her meet her new mama was such a special moment. Seeing that instant connection always reminds me why we do what we do. Moments like this make the long miles so worth it. From Missouri fields to Florida sunsets, this sweet girl handled the journey like a dream. ☀️🌴🐾🤍 Wishing this beautiful Maremma girl a lifetime of love, sunshine, and happy guarding with her new family. 🤍🐾

🎄Candy is a bright, Border Collie puppy with a curious spirit and a growing love for adventure. On this outing, she joins us for a nature walk where we focus on confidence building, leash skills, and new experiences in the great outdoors. During this adventure, Candy practices walking calmly over bridges on a leash, explores new terrain, and meets many friendly people along the way. Even though she already has strong social foundations, each new interaction helps her continue building confidence, flexibility, and emotional maturity. One especially sweet moment was when a family with three children stopped to meet her. They absolutely adored Candy, showered her with attention and pets, and Candy loved every second of it, soaking up the affection and enjoying their company. Experiences like this support the work we do with all of our puppies through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), Early Scent Introduction (ESI), Early Tactile Introduction (ETI), Early Sound Stimulation (ESS), and Early Novelty Exposure (ENE), helping them grow into well-rounded, thoughtful companions who feel comfortable in the world around them. Candy approaches each moment with curiosity, focus, and that classic Border Collie sparkle. Watching her take in the world, step by step, is always a joy. Candy has started puppy kindergarten, including crate training, potty training, leash training, and is learning basic commands. Thanks for joining us on another puppy adventure. 🐾 🌐 Website: https://2j2kbordercollies.com/ 📷Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bordercolliesandfriends/ 👍 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/2j2kbordercolliepuppies/ 🎥 TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@bordercolliesandfriends 📌 Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/2j2kbordercollies/

✨ The Shimmering Northern Lights Litter✨ A little throwback from the whelping box Our Shimmering Northern Lights babies had just entered one of the sweetest early stages of puppyhood. Their eyes had just opened, and they were beginning to take in the soft shapes and gentle light around them 🌞🌙. During this time, the puppies experienced an Early Novelty Exposure (ENE) session as part of their daily care. Simple, thoughtfully chosen objects were introduced: a soft bee 🐝, a little caterpillar 🐛, a cheerful sun 🌞, and a sleepy moon 🌙; allowing curiosity to unfold naturally alongside comfort and closeness. This kind of early experience reflects how we approach raising our puppies. Each day is guided by intention, consistency, and close attention to the individual puppies in front of us. We focus on temperament, emotional steadiness, and early foundations that support life in a home environment. After a bit of exploration, the puppies settled back together, resting in the warmth of one another. These moments, calm, connected, and unhurried, are a meaningful part of how we raise our puppies from the very beginning. Very small, very snuggly, and absolutely precious in every way. ✨💛🐾

Our Enchanted Harvest puppies are right in the middle of that magical stage where play and curiosity take center stage. 🍂 They’ve discovered that toys make the best treasures, snuffle mats hide the best surprises, and wobble boards are a whole adventure on their own! Each day brings something new, a sound, a texture, a little confidence boost, and we love watching their brave, joyful spirits blossom. 🌞 Their tails never stop wagging, and their happy little personalities are shining brighter every day. 💛

🐾🌾 Enchanted Harvest Litter 🌾🐾 Play is powerful for puppies! It's how they learn about the world and build confidence in new experiences. Our activity gym is designed with purpose: each texture, sound, and movement introduces gentle challenges that stimulate their senses and curiosity. From the soft clinking of metal buckets to the rustle of crinkly fabric and the bounce of hanging toys, every detail encourages exploration and resilience. These early exposures help shape calm, adaptable temperaments by teaching that new sights, sounds, and sensations can be safe and fun. Watching them discover joy in each new experience, tails wagging, bodies relaxed, eyes bright, is pure magic. 🧡🐾

🐾🍁 Autumn Glow Litter 🍁🐾 There's something magical about watching puppies discover the world. Novelty exposure helps them build courage and curiosity, learning that change and newness can be safe, fun, and full of love. They love to stay tucked together and snuggled close in their little puppy pile. 💤🧡

📸 Throwback Moment These photos were captured when the puppies were still in their neonatal stage , eyes closed, ears sealed, but already learning how to be strong through sleep. It's one of the many quiet miracles of responsible, intentional puppy raising. 💤 Why Do Puppies Twitch While They Sleep? (And Why It’s a Good Sign) If you’ve ever watched newborn puppies sleep, you’ve probably noticed they twitch, wiggle, or gently "pop" like a little bag of popcorn. 🍿 This isn’t random; it’s called activated sleep, and it plays a vital role in early development. When our Maremma Sheepdog puppies are just days old, before their eyes or ears open, their bodies are already preparing for life outside the whelping box. But here’s the challenge: newborns spend nearly all their time sleeping, which makes it difficult to develop the muscle strength needed to stand, walk, or nurse effectively. That’s where activated sleep comes in. During this phase, the puppies’ brains send tiny electrical impulses to their muscles, similar to the electrical stimulation therapy used in humans who are bedridden. ⚡️ These subtle pulses create small, involuntary muscle contractions, which gradually help the puppies build strength and coordination. Another essential part of this early sleep stage is myelination, the process of coating the puppy’s nerves with a protective sheath (called myelin) that allows electrical signals to travel faster and more efficiently. Myelination is critical to healthy brain and muscle development. These twitchy movements are a visible sign that the nervous system is becoming organized and functional, setting the stage for everything from walking to problem-solving later in life. We watch for this movement in our litters because activated sleep is a key sign of healthy neuromuscular development. It means the puppy’s nervous system is maturing, their muscles are being stimulated naturally, and their body is progressing exactly as it should. In our program, we emphasize early neurological development, and activated sleep is one of the earliest ways we see those systems at work. Whether you’re raising a livestock guardian dog for your farm or welcoming a Maremma puppy as a family companion, these developmental milestones set the foundation for a strong, resilient dog.

A Look Back at Week 1 with the Skyborne Litter 🐾 Meet Lark, Heron, Falco, Piper, Swan, Dove, and Wren; our Maremma Sheepdog pups from the Skyborne Litter, nestled into their first week of life. These little guardians are raised on Vet Fleece because it provides a soft, supportive surface that promotes healthy joint and hip development right from birth, and because staying dry and clean is essential for their comfort and early neurological well-being. We start introducing safe novelty items early, like these adorable carrots 🥕 because even before their eyes and ears open, puppies rely heavily on touch and smell to explore the world around them, and because that early sensory stimulation helps build stronger, more confident pups for their future, whether as dedicated livestock guardians or loyal family companions. 🐑🏡 We use every moment in these early days with intention, because we believe thoughtful beginnings create resilient, trustworthy livestock guardians and devoted family companions, and because your future partner deserves that level of care. 🤍 From Day 1, we set the stage for healthy growth. Our puppies are nestled on USA-made Vet Fleece, a thick, non-toxic, non-allergenic bedding designed to: Wick away moisture Prevent bacterial growth Support healthy hip and joint development Provide cushion and traction for early mobility

Raising Confident, Well-Adjusted Puppies Through Early Enrichment 🐾✨ Our puppies aren’t just growing—they’re learning! Each day, we introduce them to new sights, sounds, and textures through a carefully designed curriculum that helps them develop into confident, well-adjusted dogs. From Wobble Wag Giggle Balls that make fun noises to soft snuffle mats that encourageproblem-solving, & provide interesting textures (treats will be added later!), we expose our puppies to a variety of sensory experiences. They walk on different surfaces, interact with new objects, and engage in activities that stimulate their minds and bodies. Why This Matters 🐶 Confidence Building – Puppies who experience controlled challenges early on learn to adapt and recover from novelty, making them more resilient in new situations. 🐾 Reduced Fear Responses – By introducing different textures, sounds, and movement at a young age, our puppies are less likely to develop fears or anxieties as they grow. 🧠 Mental Stimulation – Engaging their senses helps develop cognitive skills, making for smarter, more trainable, and well-behaved dogs. 👨👩👧👦 Smooth Transitions to New Homes – Puppies raised with enrichment adapt more easily to household noises, new environments, and family routines. How We Stand Out We don’t just raise puppies—we shape them into dogs that will thrive in their new homes. Every experience is intentional, ensuring that each puppy receives the best foundation possible. Whether they go on to be working dogs, adventure buddies, or cherished family companions, they’re equipped with the confidence and adaptability to excel.

We absolutely love our new puppy from Kara and she is all that they told us. She has obviously had a very great start and is a very well mannered puppy. We appreciated the pod cast training emails along the way which totally prepared us for our new puppy and helped to ensure that we would be consistent in our commands and responces to Allie. She is by far the best and smartest puppy we have ever had. And I have had dogs from the puppy stage throught my life. We recommend Kara and hard puppies for anyone looking for a great dog.

Now that we settled in with our new family member Falco, our family feels as though we made the right decision working with Kara. Falco was 95% potty trained upon arrival. He has been with us now just over four weeks and is certainly part of our family. Kara and her husband were on top of everything the entire way. First time I’ve owned this breed and absolutely love Falco and would recommend this breed to other families. We have an other dog that is eight years old and they get along tremendously. Also, we have a maincoon cat, and after about a week, they finally got adjusted to each other and our seemingly friends. Although I think the cat still has the upper hand. I would recommend if you’re interested in a quality breeder, who obviously has a vested interest in families adopting/purchasing a Miramar puppy. I would certainly recommend Kara. Mike.

Kara was extremely responsive during the process. Bringing home a new puppy can feel really overwhelming but Kara helped me by providing lots of resources! The process for picking up Rosie was extremely smooth. 2J 2K was there at the agreed location on time and with a bag full of goodies to send Rosie home with me. Rosie (my gold border) became an instant part of the family. She is the smartest and sweetest dog! It’s clear that she was shown the most love and care from the youngest age. Thank you to 2J 2K for everything and for helping me meet my best friend!
