I'm John K., the breeder behind 3 King Kennels located in Mount Olive, MS. We focus on ethically breeding exceptional hunting dogs that also make great family companions. We take pride in our work! We commit ourselves to preparing each one of our puppies to thrive in their new homes, and we enjoy working with their new families.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I am a second generation dog breeder. My father raised working dogs and my children are involved with our program now. 2 of my 3 daughters have their own working lab that they run hunt test with and hunt.

  • What makes your program special?

    We are a family oriented kennel. This is not our full time job but rather a way of life. Our family consist of 5 humans and 5 dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include black and chocolate. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from John

John has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, John partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“We take great care in matching our pups with the right families. We do weekly updates until we know enough about the pups personalities and what the family is looking for to match the two together. Usually around 6-7 weeks.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $250 non-refundable deposit and between $750 - $1,250 final payment, before taxes & fees.

John may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • DNA Disease Panel, D Locus (Dilute) DNA test

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    We got our chocolate Lab, Briar, from him and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. He was completely transparent throughout the whole process — he let us FaceTime with Briar's parents and see them for ourselves, which gave us so much confidence in her breeding and temperament. He also sent weekly photos of her as she grew, so we never felt out of the loop. What really stood out was how patient and honest he was with our questions. We asked a lot of them — some pretty basic, some downright silly — and he answered every single one thoughtfully and without ever making us feel like we were being a bother. That kind of transparency and communication is rare and made the whole process feel trustworthy from day one. Briar has been an absolute joy since coming home. She's gorgeous, healthy, and shockingly easy to train — she already knows so much for how young she is, which speaks volumes about her early socialization and the care she received before we even brought her home.     Bringing Bosco home from John at 3 King Kennels was such a good experience. The process was easy, and I loved getting video updates and pictures of him before he came home. I already felt connected to Bosco by the time I picked him up. He’s doing wonderfully at home. He’s beautiful, learns so quickly, and has become such a wonderful addition to our family alongside my two older dogs, Daisy and Raven.
