I'm John & Nick W., the breeder behind 4 Seasons Aussies located in Marion, MI. We are a small hobby breeder. We raise only a couple of litters of Toy and Mini Australian Shepherds each year. We strive to produce the best quality pups/dogs that we can. We focus a great deal on the breed standard and are always trying to better the breed with every litter of pups we produce!
Q. & A. with John & Nick
Why did you start breeding?
In our search for an Australian Shepherd we realized that there were not many good reputable breeders in Michigan who did health testing, vaccinations etc. We bought a couple of dogs out of state that had been health tested and met breed standards. We had the goal of being able to provide the Michigan market with healthy, proper conformation, health tested puppies.
What makes your program special?
Unlike a lot of Michigan breeders we health test, including hips, elbows, and patellas on all of our breeding dogs. We raise all of the puppies in our home, not in a kennel. We socialize our puppies every day to ensure a well-balanced well-rounded puppy for the new family. We do not ship our puppies, they must be picked up in person or dropped off in person by us.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

We are very grateful to have found John and Nick. As soon as we saw the photos on their page, we fell in love with Tommy and immediately contacted them. They were always very responsive and answered all the questions we had! Once we met them in person, they shared great knowledge about Tommy and packed a bag of goodies for him that included some of his favorite treats, chews, daily vitamins, a toy with the scent of his littermate, and a sample of his food to help us get started. Good Dog made the process very easy from the beginning! Tommy is a beautiful dog, and we are so happy with him!

John and Nick were really great to work with. We saw our puppy at 2am one morning and knew we had to have him so we messaged them right then and they got back to us right away. They were super flexible with our schedule and coordinated pick up around us despite having a family wedding at the same time. When we picked up our puppy they had everything we needed to get started and took time to answer all of our questions. Because we are first time dog owners, this made the transition much easier. They have continued to check in and make sure we are all doing well and adjusting to dog life. Ryder has been a happy addition to our family. He is incredibly smart and obedient. He loves to play and has lots of energy but spoils us with just as many cuddles.
