Meet the breeder

I'm Michele H., the breeder behind 74 Ranch Minis located in Torrington, WY. 74 Ranch Minis has been breeding for over 17 years. We are a MASCA Hall of Fame Breeder now raising AKC Mini Americans. We health test parents: OFA, CERF, HC, CEA, PRA, MDR1, CDDY. We raise our pups with ENS, Puppy Culture & Avidog methods. They are structure and personality evaluated at 8 weeks by pros, get lots of car rides early on. Pups come microchipped, leash & crate trained. Introduced to other animals & strangers. We supply a blanket, food, bones, toys, balls, health records and plenty of info.

Q. & A. with Michele

  • Why did you start breeding?

We raised a few litters of Aussies and Border Collie crosses for our ranch when we were younger. Soon we went straight Australian Shepherd. After purchasing our first mini we decided that was the size for us. Our love grew and we started breeding for improvement of the breed and our own program for the future. We went AKC in Jan 2019 - Miniature American Shepherds
  • What makes your program special?

We use ENS, Puppy Culture, do professional temperament/personality evaluations at 8 weeks and we crate train our puppies for over 2 weeks before they go to new homes. We do several car rides before 10 days old then continue until they leave so car sickness doesn't happen with our pups. We only keep resilient, balanced puppies with good structure for our future program. We do all health testing and don't breed until 2 years old. We also are a small breeder so we can give them lots of attention in our home!
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies are blue merle. Miniature American Shepherd puppies include black, red merle, and blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
