Meet the breeder

I'm Kristen T., the breeder behind Alaska’s Baby Yorkies located in Soldotna, AK. Our Yorkies are bred for quality, health and temperament first. They are my pride and joy, my Edgewood boys are to die for! Wait until you see them and their babies. My puppies are brought up with Puppy Culture, so they are extremely confident and socialized, just perfectly. They are simply amazing!

Q. & A. with Kristen

  • Why did you start breeding?

I actually never set out to become a breeder. I had never even owned a Yorkie before or met one until my then husband’s best friend’s wife had one and I fell in love with her’s. When his best friend’s wife died, her Yorkie was pregnant. The friend had a tax business and needed someone to do her job running the front office, but didn’t have money budgeted to pay, so he paid me in the pick of the litter
  • What makes your program special?

My breeding program is special because of how far I have come. My first Yorkie was more of pet quality. I used a friend’s stud to get started, with them getting the pick of the litter and kept back the best of what remained from each litter. It only took 2 generations for me to turn my pet quality into show potential. I was also finally able to afford to purchase my own stud and other females too.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
