Breeder of Border Collies

Meet the breeder

I'm Orshi and Frank H., the breeder behind Aleannan Border Collies located in Chino/Ontario, CA. Our dogs are our children, they live with us in the house and we strive to provide deserving families with their new best friends.

Q. & A. with Orshi and Frank

  • Why did you start breeding?

My husband and I just wanted a pet, even though we both grew up with dog breeder parents. After years of researching breeds, we have ended up with a Border Collie, on a show contract. It quickly became apparent that her beautiful mind did not match her unsound body and that pushed us to get into breeding ourselves, to try and create the PERFECT dog, sound in both body and mind.
  • What makes your program special?

Our priority is to provide families with their new best friends. Healthy, happy, beautiful, well socialized puppies. Our puppies are all hand-reared, extensively socialized and 99% potty trained at the age of 5 weeks. We help to make the transition from our home to their new the easiest possible and provide support for the lifetime of our puppies. Communication does not end when they leave.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have rough coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, blue, gold, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
