Meet the breeder

I'm Allison G., the breeder behind Allison Gilbert located in Howel, MI. We breed in order to preserve the wonderful attributes we found in our dogs. Because of our dedication to both the health and quality of the breed, it's our goal to pass these traits down to future generations.

Q. & A. with Allison

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started showing Shelties when I was 12, which progressed to producing my first litter when I was 18.
  • What makes your program special?

We have produced multiple champions, but more importantly we produce puppies that become beloved family members. Our puppies are exposed to wobble boards, a puppy swing and tunnels. We start housetraining skills with litterbox training then moving to outdoor housetraining. Most our pet puppies go to their new homes having started on the skills of sit, down and come. Our puppies are microchipped, vet examined and have a fecal check.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black white and tan, blue merle white and tan, blue merle and white, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

From my husband's first phone conversation with Allison, he knew she would be the breeder to choose for our next Sheltie. She is cosiderate, mindful of the situation, knowledgeable, pleasant, and took the time to listen to his story and explain to him the one puppy she had that she felt would suite my husband's needs.
